Tue 13th April - protptype T Shirts made. K-One tidied. Rats.

Roochel (the name for the gestalt Roo and Rachel entity) made 3 basic black-only prototype STF T Shirts using Image Maker. Cheesy and Roo proudly sported them on a Tesco shopping trip. They only got asked "so what's STF then?" once. Photos might come if we can be arsed.

Gavin infliced an apocolyptic tidy on K-One. It's really clean and tidy. Feels w eird. Like when a messy pet dies and all that's left is the stark, sterile space where it used to be. Or not. I don't know. There appears to be a minor rat infestation in the K-One garage. This is of some concern as our fruit and vegetables were previously stored there.

Thu 1st April - Updates and overhaul

Firstly I managed a complete overhaul of the K-One site this week. It's been overdue for a while now an covers up the fact that there have been no updates for ages too. The old site was awkward to navigate; you had to scan through the news to find any content. Now it's all listed on the front page. Yay.

Brand new stuff you might miss:

• K-One is thinking of moving to internet time (see the little piccy in the top left (if your browser speaks Java)). For more info on internet time click on the image. It'll take you to swatch.com who are to blame.

Sunday 3rd Januray 1999 - K-One logo changed.

While designing the T-shirts Cheesy gave Roo a bucketful of whine re: the existing K-One logo. "It's lopsided!" he exclaimed.
The existing logo was created by Gavin some time ago to adorn the front page, replacing the original by Roo described as "refresing in it's naïvite". Cheesy's complaints centered on the lopsidedness of Gavin's design so Roo created a new, symmetrical, logo. See the evolution for yourself: Debate rages as to which we prefer. Gavin is working on a new one.

Saturday 2nd January 1999 - Disappointment all round.

The new modem was a major let-down. Firstly Cheesy expressed concern over the its inherent PCI-ness but nevertheless installed it. After this aborted attempt he replaced the old modem - and learned that all internal PCI modems are in fact Winmodems and unusable under Linux. Mark's mother has no such OS related inhibiting factors and so plans were made to recover lost capital by selling the modem on to her.

Saturday 26th December - K-One gets bandwidth upgrade

Mark Gould, after visiting a trade show, purchased a brand new 56kbps internal moden to replace the ageing 33.6 currently installed in Frankenstein. It waits for a festive Cheesy to install it.

Mon 14th December - K-One goes online

Mark Gould, finally admitting defeat, loaned his modem to Cheesy who promptly installed it into the Linux server (Frankenstein) setting it up as a proxy. There is now a WHOPPING 33.6kbps of hot and horny internet to share between the three connected members of the K-One household. Expect more frequent updates now that the K-One site is mirrored in K-One.

5 December 1998 - Mark cleaned up his tea stains

Mark Gould caused a stir (boom boom) when he finally wiped up the vast collection of tea stains which had been accumulating in the kitchen. Mark, who likes only PG tea and will drink nothing else, impressed the others by clearing up the stains, some of which were many weeks old.
Sadly, he saw fit to do this cleaning with a tea-towel. Never mind George.

3 December 1998 - K-One site changed!

In a shocking change to the K-One website (which has enjoyed a recent spell of stability) the new news is to appear on the main page. The edict was passed almost a week ago, but was only today put into acion. It is hoped that people will now be better able to keep an eye on the latest K-One related events - negating the need to actually click on the news link (which has been removed).

Sat 31 October 98 - Halloween Party

Best remembered for its groovy pumpkins. It started interestingly; two small parties in one (one indie, one house) with a stereo war delineating the groups. Half the party dissapeared in the middle of the night to see a late film.

Fri 09 October 98 - Quake Fest

Wallin rocked as always. The most memorable bit was the frequently interrupted power. The huge number of computers in the house (12ish?) combined with the fact that the whole house is on one circuit led to the power tripping repeatedly. This was fixed by fiddling around in the kitchen; putting the fridge and freezer on the seperate cooker circuit.

Sat 20th June 98 - Moving In Party

Nice weather, nice house.
All went well except for the giggling girls and a (soon removed) stain on the carpet. The only complaint from the neighbours was about Helen; "the girl giggling on the patio in the middle of the night". We can only assume Helen was mad as she was alone.
